Building 1 & 16 – Physical Sciences & Engineering

Extensive refurbishment and alteration works within Building 1 & 16 for Physical Sciences & Engineering including associated works. Throughout the project the buildings remained operational as the phased works progressed within the busy Highfield Campus. Works included upgrade of all core facilities, creating a new open plan teaching laboratory including High Voltage work stations, general teaching spaces, break out spaces and meeting rooms with fully glazed partitions. One side of Building 1 was opened up to introduce a ‘shop window’ into a dedicated open plan high specification environment to accommodate ‘Future Worlds’ which is utilised for liaison between outside business, academics and students to develop a strategic initiative in Student Technological Entrepreneurship.
